Minecraft | Giant Landmass | Bird's-Eye View by MinecraftPhotography Minecraft | Giant Landmass | Bird's-Eye View by MinecraftPhotography
Is it really a bird's-eye view, or is it more like a plane's-eye view?

I've found three structures on this section of map. All are contained in this image. Can you find: two Testificate Villages and one Desert Temple?

I wanted to make an image of a huge landmass once I had gotten my rendering program working properly again. I found this nice hunk of land and proceeded to mess around the way I normally do. It took about 15 to 25 minutes for me to figure out what this image needed. I decided I wanted to show this huge mass of land at a late sunset.
The sun color is slightly orange and the sun is very low -- casting long shadows. I made the water clear so that the shadows cast by underwater hills would also be visible.
All in all, I think this image turned out well. It took a long time to render, as many of my renders do, because I do not sacrifice quality for speed -- if something is worth my time to start with, it's worth doing it right.

I hope you enjoyed this peculiar look at Minecraft. It's not every day you get to see this much of Minecraft in one image.

This picture may be a large one, but it captures so much beauty in one shot. The green and yellow and white in the middle of just one giant blue ocean looks amazing. I love how every one in a while you can see a patch of lava or a mushroom of some sort to add another small touch of color. Such little details come together and create one amazing land of beauty. I'll probably try to go and find the villages and temples later. :D Overall, you did a wonderful job of capturing so much beauty in one place. I can only imagine how long it took to get just the right picture, but I look forward to your next piece. :3

Wish I knew how to use Chunky.  Mine is too slow and never shows like this.

There are tutorials out there for it, but it is pretty useful to have a decent computer when using Chunky.

This is incredible I want a way to create such stunning images. I can look around the image all day if I could (I only found one village so far). From such a distance everything looks so smooth compared to the blocks you normally see close up.

I also wonder how I'm going to achieve my goal of creating all of Metru Nui in Minecraft. www.bzpower.com/story.php?ID=1…

Check out Chunky -- that's the rendering program I use.

Maybe see if you can find some other people who'd be interested in helping and then build it together on a server?

Well the problem is that it's on the xbox 360, so I can't share servers unless I use xbox live (it also limits my minecraft tools.

Yeah, although there is an option to take a photo to post on Facebook. I tried that when I made the Wreck-it Ralph logo on Minecraft.

An interesting challenge you gave me here, fellow deviant. :) (Smile)
It was wonderful to observe all the details of this image, and thankfully after a couple of hours of careful observation, I found the 2 villages and even the desert temple. :D (Big Grin)
I'm also glad that there are 3 roofed forests here, because dark oak trees are my absolute favourites in Minecraft. w00t!
Well done, absolutely well done! Clap

The temple is by far the hardest to find because of the angle and light.
You're very right about the mushroom forest! It is quite cute. :)
